We are looking for security personnel who are capable of managing security of the school building, grounds and boarding students. This position is available for day time, overnight and weekends.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Keep building, grounds, students and personnel secure
- Monitor activity of the campus through patrols and CCTV
- Control parking and loading traffic
- Monitor the flow of people into and out of the building
- Assisting in emergency situations such as medical, fire or threats to safety of property or persons
- Reports to the CEO
- Regular written reports as well as incident reports
The ideal candidate will:
- Have graduate of a Law Enforcement or Security Program from a recognized college
- Current license with the Private Security and Investigation Act
- Minimum 2 years prior security experience
- Be able to pass a Criminal and Vulnerable Sector Background check
- Have experience in an educational setting
- Ability to deal effectively with the general public and teenagers
- Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills
- Evidence of sound organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to handle stressful and delicate situations with tact and diplomacy
- Excellent communication, documentation, interpersonal and teamwork skills and demonstrates a commitment to customer service when dealing with students, colleagues, and members of the community.
- Ability to work well independently and to exercise sound judgement
- Demonstrates an understanding of and commitment to EIA’s and Ontario’s health and safety practices including staff safety, student safety, environmental safety and participates in regular in-service education in this area, including demonstrated understanding of Supervisor Health and Safety Awareness under the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA)
- Demonstrated pattern of good attendance and work record
- Fluent English speaker with additional languages an asset
- Ability to perform the essential duties of the position
- Other duties as assigned
